Afrikan Party tells the story of an African child from 2090, born and raised in the United States of Africa. A place with countless cultures, traditions, rituals and celebrations that connect this child to its past, its present and its future. Oulouy takes us into a celebration of this life, in an urban dance party in which he highlights each milestone in an African child’s journey from birth to death with dance, theatre and costumes.
Afrikan Party is a dance-theatre performance that reflects the richness, multicolouredness and polyphony of the African continent in a mix of urban dance, mime, performance and fashion. The dancers of supa rich kids Oulouy, Ambrose Tjark, Ordinateur and Yemi Osokoya from Nigeria, Ivory Coast and South Africa use their urban dance style to tell their story with humour, poetry and zest for life. A true celebration of dance and theatre. Previously seen at Terrassa Theatre Principal Barcelona 2022.
