What happens when two bodies are forced to share the same space? In Performance D, choreographer and dancer Fatou Cissé explores how people relate to one another on shared and contested ground. Two performers meet in an intense physical dialogue where attraction and resistance, vulnerability and power are constantly shifting.
The space between the dancers becomes a site of confrontation and negotiation. Who takes up space? Who sets the rules? Who watches and who is being watched? In an arena that echoes the dynamics of the street, the performers search for ways to coexist. They challenge one another, collide, withdraw and, at times, unexpectedly find moments of connection.
Through a highly physical choreography, Fatou Cissé reveals how living together demands constant negotiation, tension and surrender. Performance D is both intense and vulnerable, exploring the fragile balance between conflict and connection. A performance about the complex choreography of coexistence.
