In an intense physical dialogue, two young black men explore deep-seated and toxic masculinity. Whether the father is present or absent, this deeply rooted masculinity is passed on from generation to generation. Just as these hip-hop dancers pass on their experiences and lessons from differences and similarities in this duet. Join them as they explore their fluid but sometimes aggressive movements from modern and hip-hop dance.
About the maker
The duet was created by Ugandan Dutch dancer, director and choreographer Ibrah Jackon. He himself dances with Ghetto Funk Collective. His base is hip-hop, but this Rotterdam native has also developed in modern dance, funk and African dance styles. Last year, he already performed a preview of The Hereditary at Breakin‘ Convention in London.
