Let top choreographer and dancer Vincent Mantsoe hypnotise you with his intense gaze and movements. This icon of African contemporary dance sees ancient religious rituals as a heritage we should honour. This is what he feels is missing in today’s, in his view, chaotic society. He depicts this disorder and confusion by dancing beastly and aggressively to autumn leaves and a staccato of melodies out of defiance. Until he embraces the South African concept of Ubuntu: I am because you are. It states that everything alive has a vital and spiritual power. While enjoying African singing and his voice, Mantsoe shows our connection to the earth with fluid and experimental movements.
