My Bones Will Rise Again

The opera Nehanda autopsies the legend of Nehanda, a mhondoro spirit, venerated by the Shona people in Zimbabwe and central Mozambique. In Nehanda, dancers and musicians bring a historic court case between Queen Victoria from England and Nehanda the Lion Spirit from Zimbabwe back to life with dance, music, performance and narratives.
