Some Afrovibes Festival 2017 programs are part of Black Achievement Month. Black Achievement Month brings recognition for the heroes of then and now, showing black role models and paying attention to the young generation.
Wednesday 4 October Afrovibes and Black Achievement Month jointly present a program in Bijlmer Parktheater Amsterdam with the dance show JONGA / KYKEN, with DOX / 155 dancers from Utrecht and South African dancers including Elvis Sibeko.
Saturday 7 October Afrovibes will be part of Black Achievement Month with a program at Maaspodium Rotterdam. With Afriqueer (site specific performance) about queer / gay lesbian identities in Africa and the Afro-Dutch community, with actors & dancers from South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and the Netherlands.
Sunday 8 October the Lady Africa Fashion show will be presented in Het Nationale Theater in The Hague. A production of Lady Africa and Afrovibes, which is also part of Black Achievement Month.
