Afrovibes will land in The Netherlands in 10 days time
From 24 - 29 september Afrovibes is back in town. Core of the festival in the Netherlands is MC Theater on Westergasterrein in Amsterdam. Parts of the festival programma are to be seen in Utrecht (Stadsschouwburg), Eindhoven (Parktheater) and Bijlmer Parktheater Amsterdam Zuidoost.

Every evening from 26-29 Sep from 6.00pm the Township Café in MC theatre is open with a different evening programe. 'Pop up stores' with Naomi Spieker sells fashion of her label NomibyNaomi (www.nomibynaomi.com ). Frédérique Olthuis presents her Traish & Ready Nailart on Wednesday and Saturday. On Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday you can get body paint by Esperanzah Denswil Tribal face paint.
Every evening will have an Artistic Exchanges with theatremakers from MC Theatre who comment on the South African shows and interviews in the series "Op de Bank Met.. (At the Couch with...)" with African theatremakers. Well known DJ's and/or live music will end the late nite clubbing at Afrovibes. With Ntjam Rosie performing on Friday 28 September. And off course, (South) African food and drinks are available in the Township Café.

Living apart and together (Alida Dors) cancelled
Unfortunately "Living apart and together" by Alida Dors are cancelled on Friday and Staurday evening. The information on Alida´s shows in our programme booklet and festicval scheme are now incorrect. On Friday evening at 9.30pm "And the Girls in their Sundays Dresses" replaced Alida´s show. On Saturday afternoon from 4.00-6.00pm, the film "Before Dawn" is now programmed. This film on the conferentie Culture in Another South Africa, held in Amsterdam almost 25 years ago, will be followed by an interview with James Ngcobo.
South -Africa in Koninklijk Theater Carré
On 24 September (8.00pm) a speciael concert with South African musicians is programmed in Carré.
Twice a discount: Visitors of this concert can get - with their ticket - reduction for Thirst at the Afrovibes Festival. On 6 and 7 October the musical Songs of Migration created by James Ngcobo and Hugh Masekela will be performed in Carré. Afrovibes festival goers can get reduction at Carré for Songs of Migration with any ticket bought for an Afrovibes festival show. Sean Bergin passed away
On 1 September South African-Dutch great jazz musican Sean Bergin (1048) passed away. Sean has performed at several festival editions, the last time at our previous festival in 2010. We will remember him for his wonderful music and great personality.
