The Afrovibes team in the Netherlands, friends and partners will remember Dutch choreographer Rudi van Dantzig. Rudi joined Afrovibes' committee of recommendation in 1999, shortly after the Afrovibes Foundation was launched. We will remember Rudi as one of Holland's great choreographers, a wonderful and nice person. Rest in peace, Rudi !!

Intriguing 1st presentation Keuse/Choice on Oct. 24th for Afrovibes Festival 2012 |

 On Monday 24 October a direct internet channel has been opened between the Albany Theatre in London, the International Choreographic Arts Centre in Amsterdam to show an intermediate stage performance of the project Keuse/Choice that South African choreographers/dancers Mamela Nyamza and Jane Sekonya-John are now creating in collaboration with British spoken word artist OneNess Sankara. This past month they teamed up for the first-rehearsals stage of this work in progress. The live stream on October 24th presented the outcome of that initial work phase.

Op 1 april 2011 is de Zuid-Afrikaanse acteur/regisseur James Ngcobo Gregory Maqoma opgevolgd als artistiek leider van stichting Afrovibes.
On 1 April 2011 South-African actor/director James Ngcobo succeeded Gregory Maqoma as Artistic Director of the Afrovibes Foundation, the Netherlands.

Afgelopen dinsdag, 23 maart, overleed de Zuid-Afrikaanse muzikant, dichter en singer/songwriter Syd Kitchen. Syd was onze gast op het afgelopen Afrovibes Festival, waar hij en Madala Kunene als BAFO BAFO de dansvoorstelling Blue Blood van Gregory Maqoma muzikaal onderbouwden.
